This is simpler than we make it out to be, but with our controlling human nature we over analyze, over dissect, and label...to control.

Just look at the prefixes!

PRE-SUME / AS-SUME 

Then remember that a PRE-SUMPTION is an assumption you make with (little to) no information about the subject. You make a judgement BEFORE having any actual information.

Where of course the sheeple have developed colloquialisms like,

"You know what you do when you ASSume?"

...but often/mostly an INFORMED judgement on the level of an AS-SUMPTION is AS it is...Enough for you/us in any case.

So to 'presume intentions' of another is to judge their goals, endgame, desire, etc...with LITTLE TO ZERO INFORMATION.

Then of course as controlling, overanalyzing, individualists the term "information" is relative.

Does one consider statistics as "information" on another? Demographics? Average/Recurring goals of the masses? Etc..?

It's a world that has devolved over the centuries to simultaneously being too nosey, while having our collective heads in the sand. Truly though, people from most all walks of life are too much in other people's business. For if they weren't presumption of another's intentions wouldn't be a thing, aside from people you actually know and/or do business with.

Again if we were to "semantically dissect", one would try to argue that the presumption of intentions will always exist no matter what, even just at a base of trying to anticipate a partner's needs/wants.

Then I would remind you of the definitions of each and ask, not ax, ask you if you knew nothing of your partner? Because if you know anything about your partner isn't it more of an assumption of desire than a presumption of intent?

We could apply this to any facet of life and go variable rounds all day...

For today's world though, truth is, or at least this author's truth is most people think many things are their business, when they are not!

It's mostly because......

It's real simple...EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. is affected by it to some degree...and it's, say it with me children...

INFERIORITY COMPLEX!

Whether is was shitty parents/family, piss poor examples from ALL the adults around you growing up perpetuated by each and every next generation, too much screen time for your impressionable ass... Whatever the case may be and to whatever degree; I say again EVERYONE!

Most people either don't even realize it or could never admit it if/when they do. It's too engrained in their/our programming to (preemptively) point it out in others before EVER admitting it to ourselves! OR... Essentially...To project onto others WHATEVER traits, habits, inadequacies, etc...that they're/we're most insecure about in order to what? Say it with me children...

To make ourselves feel better, to make ourselves feel "bigger"!

Because we're all just little Napoleon's desperately trying not to get stranded alone on an island by creating fallible and inaccurate psychological social hierarchies; "plausibly deniable" toxic behaviors to gaslight each other to try and create a(n imaginary) power dynamic. Obviously to maintain whatever semblance of power, authority, reputation, blah blah blah... More precisely to maintain perceived (societal) "labels and control"!

Presumption of intention and then WHATEVER form of demoralizing behavior from the "presser & crew" isn't the only thing that can diminish one's endeavors, but it is one of the most annoying!

With certain toxic manifestation from say, layfolks, those are often random & sporadic, or just down right illegal and easier to make them stop their attempts at "controlling", sh!++y, "dick swinging" behaviors/actions.

With those presumptuous, toxic societal type wretches they behave in those HIGHLY passive aggressive, (attempted) subliminal teardown, plausibly deniable type ways. So even if NOTHING goes over your head and you're fully ready to pick that battle, they behave so grotesquely passively that unless you have stuff on camera to confront them they can just say, 

"I don't know what you're talking about you're crazy..."

So be sure to bust out the body cams and be ready to defend perspectives with accurate psychological, societal, and environmental evidence and information!
